Notes from Bridal Styles Brides {Alexandra}

Something old, something new…Bridal Styles bride Alexandra had the best of both worlds! We reworked her mother’s beautiful lace veil, helped her choose a crystal-encrusted headband, and created a modern French Net blusher for her to slip into at the reception.

From Alexandra:

“I absolutely adored my beautiful headpieces from Bridal Styles Boutique. I received so many compliments on both my headpiece with my modified veil. Everyone loved the other Birdcage veil I used for the wedding reception. Thank you for making it possible for me to use my mother’s veil at my wedding. It was my ‘Something Borrowed’. It was definitely one of the most special and meaningful pieces that I wore on our special day. Bridal Styles Boutique made it possible!”

We’re honored to have been a part of your day, Alexandra. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous pictures, and best wishes to you both!

Bridal Styles Bride Yanique Featured on Essence!

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013

Bridal Styles bride Yanique, her new husband, Samuel, and their gorgeous wedding at Casa Kimball in the Dominican Republic have been featured in Essence!

Though their wedding was a tropical getaway, they met somewhere far less dreamy! As co-workers, they knew it could be tricky to date, but they took a chance and fell in love (hurray!).

The wedding they planned was an intimate one – 70 of their family and friends joined them at Casa Kimball, and it featured Yanique’s favorite colors, orange and fuchsia. Which, like the bride and groom, are a stunning combination!

When she visited Bridal Styles, Yanique chose the perfect accents to her fabulous Lazaro wedding gown from Kleinfeld and personal style – a dazzling crystal headpiece, French net veil, statement earrings and an eye-catching Swarovski crystal-encrusted bracelet.

Bridal Styles Babies! {Lilliana}

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Are you ready for some serious cuteness? Meet Lilliana Maria! She’s modeling her mom Christina’s clear and black diamond crystal hair comb, which Mom wore on her wedding day (along with a French net blusher veil), August 14, 2011.

Looks like little Lilliana is going to be just as much of a knockout as her mom!

From Christina and baby Lilliana:

“I just want to thank you for helping me choose the most amazing headpiece for my wedding. My experience I had with you guys was so a very memorable one. I was treated so well and you really helped me find exactly what I had always pictured. It has been a little over 1 year since my wedding and I still get compliments on it! I just recently had a baby girl and for her newborn photos I decided to incorporate my headpiece and veil for her as an heirloom that she will one day get. The pictures speak for themselves and she just looks beautiful in it. Thank you again for everything!”

Thank you for sharing your pictures, especially of little Lilliana! She is beautiful – just like her mother. We love how you’ve transformed your headpiece into an heirloom in such a special way, and we are so thrilled to be a part of your memories!

Bridal Veil Style Guide

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

From modern to traditional to vintage chic, bridal veils come in more flavors than Baskin-Robbins ice cream! So, to help all our brides and (brides-to-be) with veil terminology, we’ve created the bridal veil glossary below.

Very often these styles are combined. So, a bride wearing a pouf can also wear a birdcage blusher, or you may choose a short tiered veil to wear over a cathedral veil for a more dramatic walk down the aisle. However, to keep things simple, we’ve included our most commonly requested veils, all modeled by our wonderful Bridal Styles brides.

There are many more veil styles than those listed below, so if you don’t see what you envision, just ask us! We custom-make every bridal veil here in our boutique, so we can create or alter anything to help you create your one-of-a-kind wedding day look!

POUF: Layers of folded tulle worn at the back of the head to create a more modern and fun effect.

BIRDCAGE/FRENCH NET BLUSHER: Partially or completely covering the face, this short veil is often made with French net.

BLUSHER: A single layer of tulle covering the face, it’s typically only worn walking down the aisle.

WALTZ-LENGTH VEIL:Typically a single tier veil reaching anywhere between your knees and your ankles.

CHAPEL-LENGTH VEIL: Usually 2 to 2-1/2 yards long, this veil extends a little past the gown and is considered more formal.

CATHEDRAL VEIL:Usually three yards or longer, this is the longest and most formal of all veils. Perfect for a bride aiming to make a dramatic entrance.
